
We pursue these goals by awarding grants in three areas: the arts, education and social services. We also recognize the special value of efforts that create links among these areas. The Clowes Fund has a special interest in supporting projects that strengthen the communities in which Clowes family members and the foundation’s directors live and work.

Founded in 1989 by community leaders “to improve the quality of life and promote the self‑determination of Latinos in Chelsea and surrounding communities through economic development, education, health and social well-being strategies,” Centro Latino de Chelsea is one of the largest and most successful Latino-directed human-service agencies in Massachusetts. The Clowes Fund is proud to support Centro Latino de Chelsea’s Immigration and Citizenship Services Program.
