Reach For Youth

BUILDING A HEALTHIER FUTURE FOR YOUTH (Fall 2025). Reach For Youth provides mental health services for young people ages 7-18 in Indianapolis and surrounding communities. With offices in Indianapolis and Greenwood, the organization helps children and teenagers work through emotional challenges, trauma, and mental health struggles. Many young people today face serious mental health issues like anxiety, depression and the effects of trauma. Reach For Youth understands that every child deserves access to quality mental health care, regardless of their family's background or language. Their trained therapists work with youth to build coping skills, process difficult experiences, and develop emotional strength. The organization serves all youth in the community, but they have become especially trusted by Hispanic and Latino families.
Through their partnership with La Plaza, Reach For Youth has seen a huge increase in Latino families seeking mental health services for their children. Many of these families had never felt comfortable seeking help before because other programs didn't understand their culture or speak their language. One of Reach For Youth's biggest strengths is removing language barriers that prevent families from getting help. They provide translation services and materials in Spanish so parents can fully understand their child's treatment and participate in the healing process. When young people can express their feelings in their most comfortable language, therapy is much more effective.
Reach For Youth also provides case management services because they know that a child's mental health is connected to their family's overall well-being. Their staff helps families navigate school systems when children are struggling academically or behaviorally. They connect parents to job training and community resources because family stability helps children feel more secure and able to focus on their mental health.
The organization uses trauma-informed care, which means they understand that many children have experienced difficult things like family separation, discrimination, or violence. They create safe spaces where young people can talk about these experiences and learn healthy ways to cope.
Reach For Youth makes mental health care accessible to families throughout the area. They fill an important gap by providing culturally sensitive mental health services that meet children where they are.
The organization's work creates lasting change for young people and their families. When children get the mental health support they need, they do better in school, have healthier relationships, and grow into stronger adults. Reach For Youth is building a healthier future for youth across Indianapolis and surrounding communities.
